2007 A Successful Year for Easterton

Easterton Stables near Mugdock has made its presence felt again during 2007, by winning a catalogue of rosettes, exam passes and a ground breaking teaching course.

As well as the consistently high pass rate for the Association of British Riding School (A.B.R.S) Tests which are open to anyone interested in horses, Easterton is currently hosting the first Scottish UKCC Coaching Course for teaching riding lessons.

On the competition front, Easterton’s proprietors, Rosemary Brown and David Ralston have much to be delighted about. Their own DRB Youngstock presented well at a number of events, including The Royal Highland at Ingliston. Numerous Hunter, Irish Draught and showjumping classes also brought home an impressive collection of rosettes by liveries and staff, including the prestigious Perth Show and the three-day Scottish Amateur Internations Showjumping at Balcormo in Fife

In August, Easterton’s six qualifying horses and riders plus the usual pack of loyal supporters made another enjoyable pilgrimage to the David Broome Centre in Wales to compete in The Showjumping Championships of GB 2007. The overall Championship ended with three of the Easterton squad appearing triumphantly on the leaders board; attaining 4th, 13th and 24th out of as many as 88 competitors.

Easterton are currently competing in a “Horse of the Year Show” type atmosphere at ‘The Festival of Champions’, Ingliston House Equestrian Centre, Bishopton. It’s the events’ first time in Scotland, and is a rare opportunity for to experience such a ‘razzmatazz’ atmosphere.

Back on home soil, Easterton’s own summer events got under way with the Open Day in May, which fundraised £400 for The Gambian Horse and Donkey Trust. The Cross Country Training Days proved as popular as ever, and though the major competitions and qualifiers are over for this year, details for 2008 will soon be available on the website.

Rosemary, David and everyone at Easterton wish to thank all their friends and clients who have supported them through a productive year.
